In their defence, the EU and US interlocutors argue that they are bound to communicate with the ones the Moldovan people elected. They omitted to specify that Plahotniuc has been never elected, and holds no office (no official position) to these days. The most plausible answer to the question "whom are you meeting with though" would be "the boss of local mafia".

- No comments or explanations from the EU or US officials have ever ensued those snapshots, which left to be the only "historical messages" to the Moldovans;
- Plahotniuc and his media holding did their best to present the above photographs as cogent evidence of the EU and US support for his clique and him personally.
